Friedrichstadt is known as a "Dutch town" or "Klein-Amsterdam" for many North Sea fans. The Dutch cityscape with canals (Grachten), many picturesque bridges and straight, cobblestone streets is now an area monument.
The approximately 2500 inhabitants of Friedrichstadt are warm hosts. The following events are organized every year: Lampionfest, Tischlein History dich, Rosenträume, Drachenbootrennen, Kulturnacht, Herbstzauber, Keramiktage, Grachtenweihnacht, Friedrichstadt tanzt, flea markets, Grachtenklänge, ... . From small to fine, there is something for every taste. Whether you want to come to an event or concert, fish in the fish-rich waters, row on dreamy canals, take part in a city tour, swim in the outdoor pool or explore the north by bike, take boat trips on the Eider or the Treene, or whether you want to visit the local history museum "Alte Münze" or the many small shops,
The city was founded in 1621 by members of the religious community of remonstrators expelled from Holland. The religious freedom granted to them by the Duke led to Friedrichstadt also being known as the "City of Tolerance." The image of the place is still shaped today by houses and stair gables of the Dutch Renaissance. The special feature of the cityscape includes the house brands, which replaced the house numbers in earlier times. Often the illustrations represented the profession of the former owners or a family-typical "brand". Even today, it is possible to guess who once lived in the building. Rose lovers will also get their money's worth in Friedrichstadt: numerous house fronts, beds and bridges are decorated with countless specimens.

Not quite as old, but still historically, our old town house in Kaneelstraße has stood since 1872. The picturesque, cobbled old town street immediately transports visitors back to a more tranquil time.
The old residential building received a makeover in 2019 and has been presenting itself modern and contemporary since then. 2 people will find enough space both inside and in the cozy garden for a relaxing holiday very close to the water and on the edge of the old town.
Our holiday home No.2, on the other hand, dates from 1937. Red clinked facade and a small garden with it, as you would expect in the north. When companies were still building apartments for employees, this house on Eiderallee belonged to the energy supplier "Schleswag". and stood alone next to the company outside the city limits. With the abandonment of the location, the residential building had two different owners until we finally renovated it in 2021. Today, the house is located in the middle of the city and you will find everything you need for a luxurious holiday there.
